Description:

The pre-packaged form of sacrificial anodes electorde usually consists of a stainless steel canister that contains an inner core of magnesium alloy anode. The top of the canister is usually fitted with an insulated cable or a steel connection that leads to the metal to be protected. The anode is simply wired into the circuit and it will begin to corrode away, sacrificing itself to protect the metal structure.

Advantage:

The magnesium alloy anodes have a very high electrical potential, which causes them to be the better choice for preventing corrosion, as they are more active than other metals. Furthermore, they are much cheaper than other anodes and can be purchased in pre-packaged form, which makes them easier to use.

Application:

The pre-packaged anodes electrode can be used in marine applications where corrosion is a concern, such as on mooring chains, buoys and piping. They are conveniently packaged and easy to install, which makes them ideal for a variety of uses. Furthermore, the magnesium alloy anodes are much less expensive than other anodes and provide a higher level of corrosion protection.
